What is the Trailman’s Oath?
The Trailman’s Oath is: “On my honor, I will do my best to serve God and my country, to respect authority, to be a good steward of creation, and to treat others as I want to be treated.” Troop meetings generally include the oath during the opening.
How is a typical troop meeting structured?
Troop meetings generally begin with all units together for a call to order, opening prayer, presentation of the colors, the Pledge of Allegiance, the Trailman’s Oath, announcements, and a devotion. Boys are then dismissed to their patrols or program levels, reassemble later for games and activities, and close with prayer. A particular week may look different when the troop is preparing for a campout or special event.
