No. A father's participation is not required for a boy to join or participate in Troop 4110. We understand that every family's circumstances are different.
When possible, however, we strongly encourage fathers to become involved. Fathers can become Registered Adults, help during Thursday meetings, attend campouts and activities, serve alongside their sons, and build relationships with other men in the troop.
We believe these shared experiences can strengthen the relationship between fathers and sons. They also surround boys with other like-minded Christian men who can encourage them, challenge them, and serve as positive role models.
Grandfathers and other trusted adult male figures can also play an important role.
If a boy does not have a father or adult male who can attend a male-focused campout, talk with a troop leader. Arrangements have been made in the past for boys to attend under the supervision of a leader.
