What happens if my son misses a meeting?
Missing a meeting is not a problem by itself. Some advancement opportunities or activities may be missed, especially in Woodland Trails, so families should talk with the appropriate leader if they have questions about a specific requirement.
Is there a minimum attendance requirement?
No minimum number of meetings is required simply to belong to Troop 4110. However, we encourage boys to attend as consistently as possible because meetings and events provide opportunities for skills, relationships, awards, and advancement.
Where on the Grace Baptist Church campus do you meet?
Troop 4110 generally meets in the Timothy Center at Grace Baptist Church of Santa Clarita, 22833 Copper Hill Drive, Santa Clarita, CA 91350. Check Trail Life Connect or the visit information in case a particular event uses another location.
How long are meetings?
Regular Thursday meetings generally run from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Special events or activities may have different times and will be listed in Trail Life Connect.
What happens at a typical Thursday meeting?
Meetings vary, but usually include a mix of patrol time, hands-on skills, advancement, games or activities, planning, leadership, relationships, and Christ-centered instruction. Meetings may look different when the troop is preparing for a campout, competition, service project, or special event.
Why isn’t there a meeting every Thursday?
We generally do not meet on the Thursday immediately before a campout or when there is a major Saturday troop activity. Holidays and the reduced summer schedule can also affect meetings. Trail Life Connect is the best source for current dates. The downloadable calendar on this website is not necessarily up to date.
Does the troop meet year-round?
Mostly, but with a reduced summer schedule. We generally meet throughout the year, take a summer break, and hold only a few meetings during the summer months.
How often does Troop 4110 meet?
Troop 4110 generally meets on Thursday evenings during the program year, along with campouts, Saturday activities, service projects, Courts of Honor, and other events. Because some Thursdays are skipped, always check Trail Life Connect for the latest dates. The downloadable calendar on this website is a year overview and is not necessarily up to date.
Who should I contact if I have questions?
Use the contact or Plan a Visit form on this website. A Troop 4110 leader will follow up by email. We intentionally avoid publishing individual leaders’ personal contact information on the public site.
Where do we register?
There are two parts to registration: national Trail Life USA membership and local Troop 4110 registration through Grace Baptist Church. The Join Us page provides the current links; if you have trouble, contact a troop leader before submitting payment.
How do we join Troop 4110?
We recommend visiting a Thursday meeting first. When your family is ready to join, complete the applicable Trail Life USA membership registration and the local Troop 4110 registration through Grace Baptist Church. A troop leader can help you with both steps.
Do we have to attend Grace Baptist Church?
No. Families do not need to attend Grace Baptist Church to participate in Troop 4110. Troop 4110 is, however, a ministry of GBC and is intentionally Christ-centered.
Does my son need previous camping or outdoor experience?
No. Boys come to Troop 4110 with different levels of outdoor experience. The program is designed to teach skills progressively, and leaders can help families understand what gear and preparation are actually needed.
Can my son join in the middle of the year?
Yes. Boys are welcome to join Troop 4110 throughout the year. He can enter at the program level appropriate for his age; he does not need to wait for the beginning of a school or program year.
What should my son wear for his first visit?
Comfortable, appropriate everyday clothing is fine for a first regular Thursday meeting. There is no need to purchase a Trail Life uniform before visiting unless a leader has given different instructions for a special activity.
What should we expect at our first meeting?
Come with your son and check in with a troop leader. We will help him connect with the appropriate age group so he can observe and participate while you meet leaders, talk with other parents, and ask questions. You do not need to buy a uniform or special gear before visiting.
What ages can participate?
Troop 4110 serves boys ages 5–17, generally kindergarten through 12th grade. Boys participate in the program level appropriate for their age: Woodland Trails, Navigators, or Adventurers.
What is Troop 4110?

No. Boys and families are not required to already be Christians or attend Grace Baptist Church in order to join Troop 4110.
However, families should understand that Troop 4110 is a Christ-centered ministry of Grace Baptist Church of Santa Clarita. Christian faith is an intentional and foundational part of our program, not simply something added to outdoor activities.
Boys will learn biblical principles and be encouraged to grow in character and faith through teaching, relationships, service, adventure, and the example of Christian adult leaders. Our teaching is consistent with the beliefs and Statement of Faith of Grace Baptist Church and Trail Life USA.
Families are not required to sign Grace Baptist Church's Statement of Faith simply for their son to participate. Adults who choose to become Registered Adults have separate Trail Life USA membership and faith requirements.
