Does my son need a handbook?

A handbook is a normal program cost once your son is joining a program level. Ask a troop leader which handbook he needs and when to buy it so you do not purchase the wrong one before he is placed.

Should I buy a uniform before our first visit?

No. Visit first and talk with a troop leader before purchasing a uniform. Your son can attend a normal first meeting in comfortable everyday clothing, and the troop may have a donated shirt in his size.
